<h3><span style="color: #993366;"><em><strong>Mother&#8217;s Day is Coming May the 13th</strong></em></span></h3>
<p>Nearly 8 years ago I received a very special Mother&#8217;s Day present when my first grandchild was born on Mother&#8217;s Day.  My grandson is now 8 years old and this year&#8217;s family gathering request was to go to the local pool to have lunch and go swimming.</p>
<p>With three grandchildren &#8211; an 8 year old grandson, a granddaughter who is 6 years old, and a 2 year old grandson who has been swimming with his parents in swimming classes, it will be lovely to see them swimming and having fun.  Have a fabulous Mother&#8217;s Day to all the mums from one mum to another!</p>

<p>Cooling down is important after sports and exercise but without letting the muscles and skin get cold as this will cause the muscles to close up.  This is when cramps and a chill get into the body.  Be sure to add an extra jumper, a coat, and a scarf around your neck to keep the warmth in and keep the body temperature balanced.</p>

<p>Winter time is on its way and the cooling systems are being turned over to heating.  We have had real autumn weather with a few hot 29-30 degree temperature days and warmer nights, then the next day it&#8217;s raining and cool &#8212; back to coats on again.</p>
<p>When measuring what the day&#8217;s weather is going to be, remember to put extra layers of clothes and a coat on before leaving to go out into the cold air at night.  If you have Bronchial, asthma and lung type problems or dis-ease, always put your scarf over your mouth and nose to prevent breathing in cold air that can set a cold off or make these problems much worse.</p>
<p>The muscles going from hot to cold does affect every area.   A cold or flu can be freshening up and you can become even sicker and take much longer to get over and return to work.</p>

<p>How the Owner, CEO or Manager performs is how their employees will be.  This filters right down through every area of the business.  If you are having an issue going on in your business or at work with others, you will have the same type of issues going on in yourself at the higher levels.</p>
<p>This is when a business starts to lose good people because these people want to be in a happy environment.  If you are finding people are leaving, it&#8217;s often not the good employee leaving but a person that&#8217;s not playing a happy and productive game.  Some even hide out when they are struggling doing their job and they create chaos.  Happy people, happy business; a negative, disruptive person can spoil the whole business.  Know your environment.  If it changes get on to it quickly.  Hire slow, fire fast.</p>

<p>These are serious questions and you will only know when your baby is born.  One thing I know is how to increase the mum&#8217;s mind, body and life to be a calmer, happier and contented mum; the more content Mum is, the bigger the % goes up on your side.  The life with her husband/partner &#8212; and your entire family is also important as grandparents have a lovely role in support and the relationship with their grandchild.  As they say &#8212; happy parents, happy children, and a happy life.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been having quite a few new pregnant mums coming in to the clinic, late in pregnancy with chronic tightness in the back, neck, shoulders, hips and legs.  Also, their mind is in chaos and fatigue with work, heaviness of the baby and this just does not set you up to be in a great place.  This causes restriction for natural births, causing them to be less easy, have longer labours and increase stress on mum&#8217;s body and mind when they need to stay calm and in control.</p>
<p>A lot of advertising shows that beauty massage is light and relaxing, and mums come in, thinking this is what they get.  The idea of having pregnancy massage is much more than beauty; this is getting you ready for motherhood by releasing the muscles gently as the weight gain causes weakness, pins and needles, and swelling as the baby gets heavier, while keeping your fatigue low and your strength strong while working.  Life is good with massage! <img src='http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p><strong>Workplace Annoying Behaviour into 2012 &#8211; March<a href="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/watercooler-talk.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-975" title="watercooler-talk" src="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/watercooler-talk-300x187.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="187" /></a></strong></p>
<p>Some people think that their behaviour is being funny and that is the way to get other people&#8217;s attention, some repeat the same sentence 2-3 times because they don&#8217;t think you&#8217;re listening.  Who do they remind you of from school days?  Some don&#8217;t realise the effect they are having on others and would feel upset thinking they weren&#8217;t a good person.   It really is like being in school again and you know how it is going to go.</p>
<p>Part of the stress of being around these types of people is that you didn&#8217;t know how to be with or handle them back in school, and more than likely there was a time when something happened and this became a stress.  Now that kind of stress is back.</p>
<p>Why do you remember and get triggered by this again?  It is because the memories are stored in the muscles and your muscles will be in pain too.  Often you will feel it in the lower back and digestion, become fatigued, and your mind will feel like it is full, foggy and confused.  It is a type of bullying and you can remain a victim or, as an adult, become empowered by clearing the stress in you.</p>
<p>A special Massage session clears the effects of what was going on for you as a child and as an adult.  If you look after your stress then you release the past, and life changes for the better.</p>
<p>The deeper the pain the deeper the locked up shoulder joints, knee and hip joints, neck pain and ankle pain is stored.  That&#8217;s why your pain keeps coming back and are continually an annoyance.  Many give up or put up with their pain; others chance all the new shiny ways.  There is no race to the end &#8212; it is about maintaining your life and living the life you want.</p>

<p><strong>Tip #12:  Workplace:  Body Odour or Heavy Perfume!</strong></p>
<p>Statistics are out:  93% of body odour is from not having a shower each day, causing the odour.  After exercise and before going to bed, taking a shower removes all the salts, relaxes the muscles and regularly, once a day will keep your stress and anxiety low.  But did you know when a person is stressed these odours are stronger than normal?  See if you can tell how another person is feeling:  Are they stressed?</p>
<p>Heavy Perfume:  9% of male and female perfumes are made of chemicals.  A large number in the workplace wear it to an excess, thinking the more the better, but actually a little is complementary and nice.  Even the aromatherapies oil is very strong but remember, they are a concentrated amount in a bottle so one tiny drop in cream or oil massaged into the skin is perfect.  A large complaint is that aromatherapies oil and perfumes do cause headaches and sinus problems in some people.  A little goes a long way.  So if you&#8217;re feeling like you are being avoided, have a check on the smells you give out.  Nobody likes to be told or avoided.</p>

<p><strong>Tip #19:  Workplace:  Anti-Social Grumpy &#8212; Overly Chatty Co-Worker</strong></p>
<p>54% of people are seen as anti-social even though they don&#8217;t realise they seem that way because they are wrapped up in their own lives.  43% of people are seen as overly chatty and are often in the wrong area of work, avoiding doing the work because they don&#8217;t know what to do, are stressed, aren&#8217;t meeting their targets, and need a new challenge.  Others just can&#8217;t help themselves because quietness has them feeling uncomfortable.  Don&#8217;t go to the extreme and just think they are doing it to annoy you.</p>

<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-924" title="oak-tree" src="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/oak-tree-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />There are moments in life that can be a challenge like we have not seen before.  If you stand tall and be like a large open tree with long roots into the deep earth, spread out wide, picking up all the nutrients, seeing the branches swaying back and forward in the wind, gently blowing through the branches and the leaves shining and twinkling in the sun.</p>
<p>Just know life is like that &#8212; we are always moving gently and freely back and forwards.  Ever changing and the more we stay alert in one way and inspired by what we see, the sun starts to shine even more, opening the direction for you to go.</p>

<p>The same is for us.  Without food, water, moderate exercise and remedial massage for the muscles, you will stop, slow down, feel weak and become injured.  Keep your body tuned up just like you do your car!</p>

<p>Past generations quietly dealt with the loss of someone in the family, often not talking about them dying, the funeral, or even let children go to the funeral because they felt the children would not understand.  People thought they would get upset, or say it&#8217;s no place for a child, but little did they know &#8212; children understand everything.</p>
<p>Often parents did not explain what was going on.  They were left wondering why everybody was upset and crying.  So children just became fearful, anxious of the unknown, watching everything that was happening and trying to figure out what was going on.  Listening to anything the family would say or do, even though they would not give you a straight answer and never talked about it in front of the children.</p>
<p>When you would ask where your cat or bird was, or the dog is just gone and you didn&#8217;t see them anymore, you usually just forgot about it.  It was all hush-hush back then.</p>
<p>When my grandparents died 8 days apart, I was 31 years old.  Yes, I did not want my grandma to die, I loved her so much.  And Grandpa was not well either.  Because I did not have experience with what was going on, I was dealing with high anxiety, in disbelief and shock about this time.  These days and times are changing and it is much more open and we all want to know.</p>

<p>Congratulations to our family that had a little boy in the past week!  Grandma, sister, Dad, Mum and baby are doing well!  They had a home birth.</p>

<p><strong>Looking After Your Body with Massage </strong></p>
<p>At the time of my first massage I was having a massage to make me feel better.  I was not sure what that would look like or what it would feel like.</p>
<p>After my very first massage 20 years ago, it was a Wow! <img src='http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' />   The chatter in my head stopped that day &#8212; silence.  My body felt light and floaty, I was all wobbly and I sat down to enjoy the overall feeling of being really relaxed.  Each time I have a massage it still happens.</p>
<p>I have a massage every week because my work is physical; I find I have more energy for a longer time, my face is much younger for my age group, and my body functions are much younger.  I don&#8217;t get aches and pains others get, and I freely move and do what I like because my muscles are relaxed.  In the beginning I did not know but now I know and I feel clear in my thoughts &#8212; to go beyond where I have been before and much easier!</p>

Now it&#8217;s a distant memory!</p>
<p>Here at Chelsea Massage, the clinic slowed down, then stopped for 2 weeks. Lara stayed in Adelaide while Helen was over at Tumby Bay for the New Year, near the beach. Since being back we are making a huge difference in muscle pain, fatigue, stress and chronic scoliosis problems. Often people come to us as a last resort, when everything else has been tried without success.</p>
<p>What we offer to you does have an amazing affect in what you are looking for to be happy and return to your healthy and happy self. Be prepared to concentrate on your health and not your pocket. For without your health, nothing else happens; your life stops the things, and the thing you love to do stops.</p>
<p>A lady last week had been in so much pain she stopped driving her car, and her daughter was very concerned. She loves fishing and wanted to go out there on the water but she couldn&#8217;t even do that for the rocking of the boat would have been too painful. In one and a half weeks, she was driving her car, went fishing with her friend, and the pain lines on her face are now gone and she looks relaxed.</p>
<p>Lara&#8217;s client had pains in his legs; he would rest a day or two and expect that his legs would be fine, BUT every time he went back to the gym they would get even more painful and it was hard for him to know what to do. The missing ingredient was NOT having a remedial massage, and as soon as he had his muscles released and was injury FREE, he continued the holistic approach every 2 weeks so he gets to go to the gym and enjoy his sessions stress and pain free.</p>
<p>Did you know that people who use the gym to release stress by pushing their body too hard cause injuries, they don&#8217;t get the pain sorted, and then they damage the muscles and have to STOP exercise? That is terrible. To love what you do but can&#8217;t do it.</p>
<p>Cheap is very expensive if nothing works! Some people are paying $50.00 for 5 minutes of treatment, 3 times a week; then add time, fuel and travel, that equals 15 minutes @$150.00. Other therapies are $60.00 for 3 minutes, 3 times per week; 3 x $60.00 equals $180.00 per week for 9 minutes of treatment. With the holistic massage approach (which looks at helping all of you), 60 minutes is just $110.00.</p>
<p>Last year I noticed people were searching for something that would help with their problems and often being told &#8220;You have to put up with it for the rest of your life,&#8221; which seems like a hard thing to do. Be prepared &#8212; many before you, including myself, needed to find answers to their problems. <p><strong>Tip #2:  Where Does Your Pain Really Come From?</strong></p>
<p>You can have pain in one area of your body, and you massage and put cream on it to relieve that area but it just doesn&#8217;t make any difference. Often the pain is coming from somewhere else in the body.</p>
<p>One classic case is hip pain. Many say it is sciatic pain or bursitis. What happens is the muscles get tight and can really be caused by overloading the muscles in the front of the upper leg or the calf. If only one small area is relaxed, the other areas in pain can become more painful.</p>
<p>Look at the whole body approach because what they say is, &#8220;The squeaky wheel gets most of the attention.&#8221; The area in your body with the most pain get ths attention first.</p>

<p><strong>Tip #5:  What to Do When Negative Thoughts Keep Coming</strong></p>
<p>Negative thoughts can come very quickly into our environment with newspapers, TV, radio and in what people say around us. The news is to sell ads and information and they can be very impactful.</p>
<p>Start reading positive books and switch the radio and TV off or listen to music with your headphones on. If you have been working hard, your thoughts turn into fatigue and tension in the muscles which restricts movement and puts a heaviness into your mind.</p>
<p>Drinking less alcohol, coffee and sweets will help to rebalance your mind and spirit. Use massage to rebalance the body&#8217;s muscles.</p>

<p><strong>&#8220;Do You or Someone You Know Have Multiple Sclerosis?&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>Google is a good resource for doing research into how you can get help with Multiple Sclerosis, as each person is individual, and so is MS in its symptoms. Research has found that a Massage and Reflexology combination can make a big difference to those suffering with MS.</p>
<p>I suggest the only way to know is to have 2-3 sessions and see what your body feels, how your body responds, and the symptoms you have.</p>

After treatment he was standing still and comfortable on his feet. <p>One problem that is almost normal is stress. And this is what causes communication to break down between our children. This fighting between each other is painful to listen to as our children go at each other and are always wanting us to stop them, and wondering which one I should tell off! It is too hard at this point; then you are stressed wondering, &#8220;How can I resolve all that?&#8221; In my book you&#8217;ll find the answers just as one mum before xmas got her Christmas present; her 2 girls have stopped fighting and are getting along and loving each other.</p>

<p>Christmas is such a busy time, and at this time family can be pulled apart or pushed together by life.</p>
<p>This year our whole family is catching up for breakfast from 8 a.m. &#8211; 12 p.m. lunchtime.  It is such a lovely time of the day, and the grandchildren are happy and well rested.  The grands are always up early and so everybody should be!  It doesn&#8217;t matter if you see family on different days, it&#8217;s about spending time together, having fun.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/sunshine1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-862" title="sunshine" src="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/sunshine1.jpg" alt="" width="264" height="175" /></a>Summer is here and it has not gotten really hot yet.  We have had up and down days with the weather; two days hot and the next day rain.  It is time to spend a little more time out in the sun.  Doctors recommend going out in the morning for 15 minutes.  Read the paper and have breakfast out in the morning warmth with family.  Working inside all day, the body gets low and stops taking in the sunlight.  You need balance for your body&#8217;s health.</p>

<p><strong>Tip #27:  Are Your Arms Cramping and Feeling Weak?</strong></p>
<p>We use our hands for everything we do.  The muscles in the lower arms do all the movements in your wrists, hands, fingers and joint muscles.  Some common problems include cutting vegetables all day, every day; hammering; writing, like students in exams; being on the computer using your finger on the keyboard; and more.  Over a long period of time they become tired.</p>
<p>Overloading all the muscles cause cramping, weakness and pain.  The remedy is to have a massage, plus run cold water over the area.</p>

<p><strong>&#8220;Mums, Are You Feeling a Little Run Off Your Feet?&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>Are you finding you have to go to this party and that party, including friends in your children&#8217;s school?  It is becoming a bit much!</p>
<p>You know you could run around and go to everything you&#8217;ve been invited to, which on one level is real lovely to be invited.  Then there&#8217;s the guilt of not going at all and having to make an excuse.  But what is the real reason?</p>
<p>You are so tired, you can feel it is getting on top of you, but you feel like you better go.</p>
<p>Have you noticed that the parties are not all in your local area; some are where you have not traveled to before?  You&#8217;re not sure where it is and you have to find it, it&#8217;s not the best traveling by yourself with all the kids because they can get a bit&#8230; awful.</p>
<p>Do you go because you should or for the kids&#8217; sake or do you save yourself a lot of STRESS and anxiety, and stay home when you know where everybody is and it would just be easier?</p>
<p>When the level reaches the boiling point and you are about to blow, this is anxiety and it will hit you like a ton of bricks!  Some think the pain in their chest is them having heartache or worse, they feel very sick, hot in the face and become confused.  It is a scary place to be!</p>
<p>What should you do?  Stop!</p>
<p><strong>5 Steps to Release Stress, Pain and Anxiety</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>If you are driving a car, pull over, off the road safely.  Calm yourself down, have a small drink of water, lock the doors to stay safe and keep children in the car.  If you are not far from home, just drive carefully.</li>
<li>CALL your husband/partner/Mum/Dad/someone to talk to.</li>
<li>See a doctor as quick as you can and let someone else drive.  The doctors will access you and do what they do to see what is going on.  If it&#8217;s anxiety, every little upset will make you feel worse.  Settle down and stay quiet.  You will feel confused, heavy over the heart and chest, and you&#8217;ll feel foggy in the head.</li>
<li>Have 2-3 massages.  They calm the fatigue down in the muscles from how tired you are.  This will also relax your mind from confusion.  Think through what set you off.  If you&#8217;re doing too much, look back where you should have stopped but you kept pushing yourself past your alarm bells.  What upset you and made you feel uncomfortable?</li>
<li>Children are very aware of what is happening so talk to them.  Your children will base their behaviour on the way you feel.  Children usually are the opposite of quiet.</li>

<p><strong>Looking After Your Body with Massage &#8211; Playing Sports and Massage</strong></p>
<p>When I started massaging 19 years ago in the country, there was not remedial massage places to go for treatment like there are today here in Adelaide.  The health fund did not have massage at all on their list for good health.</p>
<p>When I was a sports trainer and did sports massage, they would line up before playing football to get their stiff back loosened.  There was always this tough guy that put the deep heat on his legs himself and then wondered why he couldn&#8217;t catch the ball.  Deep heat has a numbing affect when applied to the skin.  One day he injured his hamstring (the back of his leg) and the muscle was badly damaged.  Now his 3 sons have regular massages!</p>
<p>Stretching is good while your muscles are young, the fibres are open and before injuries start happening.  When the muscles are physically working hard or you sit down for a long period of time, the pressure builds up.</p>
<p>Pilates are great if you are not restricted with aches and pain.  Often they say it&#8217;s the answer to everything but if you are very tight and are not using massage and Pilates together, this will cause more problems and injuries.  Then you think, well that doesn&#8217;t work!  Many of the football players that are now 80+years old like to have a massage so they can play golf, and bend while playing lawn bowls.  Their wives never had a massage so they don&#8217;t know the benefits of any massage.</p>

<p><strong>Tip #38:  Are You Grinding Your Teeth?</strong></p>
<p>Some people grit their teeth at night.  They&#8217;ve been to the dentist, but they can&#8217;t find anything.  To try to resolve <a href="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/woman-jaw-ache.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-848" title="woman jaw ache" src="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/woman-jaw-ache.jpg" alt="" width="238" height="202" /></a>the problem, they try this and that but they are still getting headaches into your jaw.  They go to the back and up to your eye, jaw bones, up the side of your face and around to your temples and forehead.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re wondering why you keep griting your teeth at night, well it is tension from your neck, shoulders and back becoming so locked up in your muscles that the tension is tight, restricting movement, and then becomes an anxiety movement from the restriction.  Clicking, jaw locking and jaw out of alignment are common problems.</p>
<p>Some of the causes include whiplash from car accidents when your head is thrown around, having your mouth open too long at the dentist, chewing gum (which overloads the jaw muscles), injury to the face and neck, and long term stress.</p>
<p>How do you release it?  Dentists use mouth guards and some people grind through the plastic.  Others hate them and throw them out of their mouth.  But it does nothing to heal the problem and is simply a Bandaid.</p>
<p>Again, these are muscles that have become overloaded over a long period of time. We use techniques to unlock the knots in the muscles with remedial massage and give the person techniques to unlock the muscles and return to muscle strength and health.</p>

<p><strong>Tip #46:  Are You Waking Up When You Roll Over in Bed at Night?</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Back_Ache_-out-of-bed.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-849" title="Back_Ache_ out of bed" src="http://www.chelseamassage.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Back_Ache_-out-of-bed-300x295.jpg" alt="" width="226" height="238" /></a></p>
<p>Getting uncomfortable in bed and waking up to roll around in bed is common when your muscles get tight.</p>
<p>It is not the bed or the pillow&#8217;s fault when you are uncomfortable in bed.  When your muscles are very tight, there is no stretch and cushion in the muscles.  This means the bones feel very tender due to the lack of cushion in the muscles and they get harder.  The solution is to release the tension in the muscles with remedial massage.  That way the muscles will stretch, become stronger again, move more easily, and feel lighter in your body.</p>

<p>Hey, I know you have been working really hard and if it&#8217;s important to keep your body from becoming tight and in pain, when you start to get uncomfortable are are not able to sleep then we need to address it asap&#8230; otherwise you will be in for real trouble!</p>
<p>Those sore shoulders, tight back, neck and pain down the outside of your legs are not going to go away.  Rolling over wakes you up, stiff legs and cramping feet can become an all-out nightmare of injuries.  After-care massage is important too &#8212; the last thing you need is to have what they call the baby blues, fatigue or be stressed!</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been listening to the new clients coming in and having a massage.  One man said that he had been to the Doctor with terrible pain in his lower back.  He looked at me and said to me, &#8220;The doctor said I have to live with it.&#8221;  Then he looked me in the eye and asked, &#8220;Why did the Doctor not tell me to have a massage?  Often Doctors just don&#8217;t know.</p>
<p>Do you want to know how he found us to have his massage?  Two of his friends told him to come to Chelsea Massage because they&#8217;ve got &#8220;Magic Hands&#8221;.  Yes, he was much better when he came out of his massage.</p>
<p>I even have people come in that have been driving past us every day for the past 10 years and until that point had not seen the massage clinic.  The reason they had not seen us before is because we don&#8217;t see what we don&#8217;t need until we need it.  Then we see what is needed and available.</p>

<p>In my massage room, it is one-on-one with a client.  For me it is special to be able to help people that have pain, feel stressed, stuck, fatigue and trauma.  Others need relaxation, and some need help at a deeply emotional level and we can do that.</p>
<p>Massage is one way for me to make a difference and I love my massage work.  As a young mum with 4 little kids, life was hectic.  The day I had my first massage was the day I felt so good that I thought to myself, if all mums could have massage they would all feel good too!</p>
<p>Three months later I went to Adelaide on my own to learn professional massage.  I started my own massage business and became busy very quickly.  Every time I went back to Adelaide I always learned more about myself and would go home inspired.</p>
<p>Helping my family and helping my clients was fabulous and the more I learned, the more I found ways to help others.  One-on-one is fabulous but I want to help more; I want to help everybody!  Then my book &#8220;Empowering You and Your Family&#8221; came to life so now I can give this to you too.</p>
<p>Some of you will not be ready yet and that&#8217;s ok.  Others will take it on and will want more.  I can give you more if you want your freedom!  This comes from my experience over the last 19 years.  Now my book is a reality and is at the printer!</p>
<p>I have been writing my book over the last 12 months, as you may be aware.  The last 19 years of experience is where all my inspiration has come from, and massage and coaching are the perfect match.</p>
<p>The muscles hold the physical and emotional stress in the fibres.  Have you noticed that when you are stuck you find life difficult and so hard to move forward?  This happens because often the body is in pain, fatigued and overwhelmed, along with headaches.  Is blaming others a common complaint?</p>
<p>Some great feedback is coming through after reading my book and asking for their input.  They asked if the part you talked about in the book was what we talked about, and yes, that&#8217;s right.  I now understand more about why I saw my life that way and why I felt like crying after the session.  It was a release, built up after many years of suffering.  So the book is not to tell you it is this way, but more about opening your heart and mind to what is really important to you.</p>

<p>Many who get migraines come from stressful jobs, have muscle tension, trauma or often have had an accident.  Remedial Massage unlocks the muscles that have become restricted.</p>
<p>It is not just one leg or the right shoulder, but an overall holistic approach of what is happening in your body.  Looking at the overall you, not just what happened last week, but looking at your whole life; what you have been lifting and shifting, traumas, stresses in your life.</p>
<p>The built up tension can come on very quickly and over time becomes harder to control.  Stop when you feel them coming on.  Don&#8217;t have a massage when you are in the middle of the migraine as driving can be dangerous.  It can limit you in being able to see well so please stay at home in a dark room, which is better.  After the migraine has passed, this is the time to come and have your massage to unlock the muscles.</p>

<p>It is the beginning of the party season!  Are you wondering what you can do to keep your feet from aching?  If you want to wear those shoes, let&#8217;s make that happen.</p>
<p>You want to prevent damage to your cuff, twisting and going over onto your ankle, pain in your arches, and sores under your toes.  What really helps when you&#8217;re wearing high heels?</p>
<p>When your centre of gravity is in balance, it helps you look and walk taller and more elegantly.  Massage releases the tension in the muscles so muscles stay strong and it helps to prevent leg and foot damage, as well as releases your lower back and helps your tummy to stop sticking out.</p>
<p>Another fashion is the very flat sandals with hard soles which have no cushion for the muscles, causing the bones to get very tender.  The lower legs, after having a little bit of heel during the week in walking shoes, can cause pulling and causes a jarring into the knees.  Time to get those muscles relaxed so you can have a great time!</p>

<p>This week I have taken another LEAP forward to a new higher level program with my coach and mentor in 2012.  I will be writing more on Facebook and asking you what else I can help you with.  I have also been online with my 2 main websites for a few years.</p>
<p>I have had many of you ask when I was going to start my own coaching program and some have asked for an online program.  We now have Kajabi, which is a membership program that is easy to access and you have one place you can go to anytime to see all the information in one area.</p>
<p>I have bought many programs over the years, received emails every week and they get lost.  Trying to find that email from months ago with that program you wanted to read again is hard to do.</p>

<p>I know remedial massage releases the aches and discomcomfort in your upper body but also soothes your aching feet, all while relaxing and energising you, leaving you <strong>feeling lighter and more comfortable</strong>.  It&#8217;s all about having a relaxed, easy-going, fabulous experience being pregnant, and having a natural, relaxed and easy birth &#8212; until you have experienced this level of fatigue and tireness it is hard to believe.  And this gives you a sleeping, 8 hours a night, happy and healthy baby and Mum!</p>
<p>This is not meant to alarm you but I have seen and heard many mums that are not coping well.  All the dreadful stories from TV are talking about how parents are not coping; the professionals know and can see all these reasons why, using big words for all the problems they have.  In the UK health system, these mums are getting massage once a week after birth.  What about Australia&#8217;s mums?</p>

<p>If you are <strong>fatigued before and while pregnant</strong>, you&#8217;ll be fatigued when you&#8217;re going home from the hospital.  You&#8217;re leaving yourself wide open to baby not sleeping, not feeding, sickness, being traumatised, a screaming baby and a worn out mum.  You&#8217;ll not be coping well &#8212; and this is all preventable.  Getting that low is a real struggle to pull yourself out of this hole, and others are told to take tablets but it&#8217;s just a Band Aid.</p>
<p>From my <strong>experience as a mum of 4 children</strong>, watching many, many mums over the last nearly 20 years as a professional massage practitioner, and massaging pregnant mums all the way to mums with small children, adult children, my own 3 grandchildren at their start in life, and many of my friends and family members &#8212; regular massage turned around these Mums&#8217; recovery very quickly.</p>

<p>School holidays are nearly here. You&#8217;re feeling tired from rushing the children around to sports, school and other activities. It&#8217;s good to stop when the holidays are on and spend time at home or going on a family holiday.</p>
<p><strong>Are you ready?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Have you had your massage this month?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Get in quick</strong> and have your massage because time does go quickly and you don&#8217;t want to feel fatigue, worn out, pain or sickness!</p>
<p>A good time to do it is right now to get those muscles ironed out so you are free from pain.  This will help you to keep up with the kids and stay patient with them.  For working mums it is like juggling balls; a few days off or even going away with the family &#8212; you just keep working on what you need to do each day and just keep on going&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>I found that getting a massage just settles me down and puts me back in balance.</strong></p>
<p>During the holidays is when many of the teachers come in and have their massages.  Spring is here and after a full term of teaching, the neck gets tight from talking, the shoulders from leaning over their desk marking papers, and on the computer even your fingers are working hard!</p>

<p>Round shoulders are more likely to get crippling side stitches and problems with poor posture and headaches during working out as the muscle tension builds.  This pressing on the nerves is what&#8217;s to blame.  A balance of massage while strengthening your muscles for core stabilization is a must to prevent injuries.</p>
<p>Stretching the muscles does help but is not the full answer to preventing torn muscles and pain.  As the muscles become tight they get mini tears which gives you the pain and restriction.  So while walking, gym dance, and all other activities, massage keeps the muscles relaxed and working with ease.</p>

<p>Coming soon is the City to Bay Run.  Some are signed up to do the 6 km run while others are doing the 12 km run.  Many more children will be riding their bikes and Mums and Dads will be out with the pram.  The City to Bay starts in the morning.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget to keep aches and pains at bay with remedial massage to put power into your muscles.  Tight, aching muscles mean you&#8217;re becoming overloaded and to continue running will cause more problems and will prevent you from starting the run.</p>
<p>To prevent a deterioration of muscles further after the running is complete, many sports people with injuries have a massage the day after the event.</p>

<p>I am on a Mission!  I have done lots of courses around creating income to be debt free, have money in the bank, and no more worrying about that big bill coming in.  Is Money working for me or am I working for it &#8212; Money?</p>
<p>We all have it, but what you do with the problem is what I would like to take to the next level.</p>

<p><strong>Part 4 of a 4 Part Series</strong></p>
<p>In the August Newsletter we talked about a game that you and Money play.  August was about asking you if you have paid off all the credit cards, car loans and are putting all that extra money into paying off a home loan. How are your little workers doing?  Are you making them work harder than you?  What type of advertising is working on you?</p>
<p>September is here; are you getting your little workers started on the road to give you your freedom?</p>
<p>Last week I heard how Dave paid off his last loan and realized he could retire.  So he went to work that day and told his boss, &#8220;Friday I am retiring; I don&#8217;t need to come to work anymore!&#8221;</p>
<p>The boss did not see that coming!  Now Dave and his wife are off to travel around Australia.</p>
<p>For me it means I can enjoy taking a weekend off and watch my 28 year old son who was <strong>playing country football in the reserve for Balaklava</strong>.  He has been playing football since he was old enough to play mini colts.  A few times he made the first or second finals over the years, and 2 years ago his team was in the grand final but couldn&#8217;t pull it off.</p>
<p><strong>This month, 10/9/11, Michael&#8217;s team won by 19 points</strong>!  This is the first grand finale he has ever won and he was so happy and he proudly carried his 15-month old son to receive the medal that was placed around his son&#8217;s neck.  Do you remember how wonderful that feeling is when you won?  There was a party afterwards, and I have posted some picture up on my website at <a href="http://www.helenbrougham.com.au/" target="_blank">http://www.helenbrougham.com.au/</a>. I hope you&#8217;ll check them out!</p>
<p>Why do I tell you this story?  This is about winning at what you want.  It may not be today or tomorrow but it will happen.</p>
<p>What else can you do when you&#8217;re not concerned with paying off a bill?  A lady had been working all her life and decided she did not want to be an educator full time but did not want to go back to working night duty either.  So she took a 7 week leave and very quickly found it was much more fun catching up with friends, having more time for her regular massage, and relaxing the whole afternoon instead of rushing to the next appointment.</p>
<p>How many little workers could you gather to be more powerful than you have been, to get that amount of freedom in your life?  And how would that help your relationships?  Would you need to work full-time or could you go part-time, being debt free?  Maybe even have the life you said would really be fabulous!  Or maybe an overseas holiday&#8230; You know you can have it!</p>
<p>You have not gotten there yet!  It is a work in progress and as our little workers are working for us, so can you have more of what you want.</p>

<p>If you are <strong>fatigued before and while pregnant</strong>, you&#8217;ll be fatigued when you&#8217;re going home from the hospital.  You&#8217;re leaving yourself wide open to baby not sleeping, not feeding, sickness, being traumatised, a screaming baby and a worn out mum.  You&#8217;ll not be coping well &#8212; and this is all preventable.  Getting that low is a real struggle to pull yourself out of this hole, and others are told to take tablets but it&#8217;s just a Band Aid.</p>
<p>From my <strong>experience as a mum of 4 children</strong>, watching many, many mums over the last nearly 20 years as a professional massage practitioner, and massaging pregnant mums all the way to mums with small children, adult children, my own 3 grandchildren at their start in life, and many of my friends and family members &#8212; regular massage turned around these Mums&#8217; recovery very quickly.</p>

<p>Have you been watching The Block on TV?</p>
<p>The two sisters were painting the outside of their home and Amie could not lift her arm.</p>
<p>Concerned about what the pain was, they drove to the hospital to have an x-ray.  Now do you remember what the outcome was?  Amie had strained her muscles at the top of her shoulder and arm, forearm, hand and fingers.  The pain was from painting the wall.  Because her body was not used to doing this type of work, her muscles overloaded and went into muscle spasms and locked up.</p>
<p>This is a common injury we have here at Chelsea Massage.  From Mum picking up the children, lifting boxes and twisting around, neck pain from carrying heavy bags, sitting at the desk every day, every week, every month and every year &#8212; it continues to overload the muscles and then they have become painful as they become tighter.  It is not a spine thing, but a muscle problem.</p>

<p>Many think that if they keep exercising they will get rid of their cold.  Often the body gets a flu or virus because it has become run down and is in fatigue or injury mode.  We have had all this heavy coughing, painful, sharp catching in the throat, and sneezing from all the flus and viruses.  Every cough causes the muscles in your back, neck, shoulders, ribs and stomach to expand outwards rapidly, which causes all your muscles to become painful on movement, strained and hurt when you breathe in and out.  Massage is a great way to loosen all the muscles and release any remaining effects from being sick.  Many are nearly over their cold, then have been falling sick with the same virus over again.</p>

<p>I am on a Mission!  I have done lots of courses around creating income to be debt free, have money in the bank, and no more worrying about that big bill coming in.  Is Money working for me or am I working for it &#8212; Money?</p>
<p>We all have it, but what you do with the problem is what I would like to take to the next level.</p>
<p>This is a <strong>4 part series on &#8220;Money and the Games It Plays on You&#8221;.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Part 3 of a 4 Part Series</strong></p>
<p>In the July Newsletter we talked about a game that you and Money play.  July was about your expenses and what you are paying for.  Did you find you&#8217;re paying more than you thought?  I found I could add an extra $100.00 per fortnight to our home loan to make it go down quicker.  Also, one of my accounts had $2.50 coming out for the last six months and I didn&#8217;t even know what for!  So I got the bank to stop that money coming out.</p>
<p>August</p>
<p>Your little workers &#8212; every $1.00 is a worker.  You are a worker to get the money; you have to work in your job to do things for your boss to bring in the money so he / she can pay you.</p>
<p>At the moment, money has been put in places that are going down, e.g. sharemarket business, and DVDs and book shops.  There are many people that say they have the answer, but who said to put it there?</p>
<p>Do you have a home loan?  If so, add up the interest you pay per month, multiply that by 12 months, then multiply that by the number of years you have been paying for your home (I am not giving you financial advice; you should always seek your own information).</p>
<p>I did not say it was going to be easy, but look at the problem head-on and take your power back!  Remember, all that advertising to get you in is not working on you anymore!</p>
<p>Change the TV station when the commercials come on; yes, sometimes there are commercials on every station.  That is no accident either!</p>
<p>Stop watching the doom and gloom; boring stories do not sell papers and don&#8217;t get you pulled in.  If you get pulled into the stories, and advertisers want you to buy something to make you feel better &#8212; after 5 minutes of this you&#8217;ll buy anything; even though you know you will end up feeling worse.  Then, after getting it home, you hide it from the family because you feel guilty.  This is when it is really easy to go and eat stuff to make those feelings better.  That doesn&#8217;t work either!  Just don&#8217;t watch those programs!  The other day an accountant said he watches sports, and this was an easy way to get excited and feel like he was being a part of a game.</p>
<p>Have a look at paying off your debts, your credit cards first.  First, start with the smallest amount on a credit card.  After you pay that one off, close the account.  Now add that money to the next debt; and one by one you&#8217;ll make your workers give you freedom.  Keep going the same way on any other loans.  Have a look at how much money you would have if you were debt FREE.</p>
<p>How many little workers could you gather to be more powerful than you have been, to get that amount of freedom in your life?  And how would that help your relationships?  Would you need to work full-time or could you go part-time, being debt free?  Maybe even have the life you said would really be fabulous!  Or an overseas holiday&#8230; You know you can have it!</p>
<p>Many are avoiding the truth of the debt they have.  Be brave and take control.  Are you going to choose avoidance or freedom?</p>

<p>Have you noticed that your <strong>Tummy and Bottom</strong> are <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>sticking out</strong></span>?</p>
<p>Have you decided you are going to get rid of that belly but the more you try, the more everything else goes BUT THAT?  Yes&#8230;</p>
<p>Well, I&#8217;ve got some good news and some bad news.  Everybody tells you what to do with it, but nothing is working.  Now it&#8217;s time to leave it to the experts.  Can I give you the answer to your problem?  No amount of exercise &#8211; crunches, tummy curls or any other kind &#8211; will work.  In fact, you&#8217;re actually having more pain, suffering and feeling worse aches.  Yes&#8230; they will tell you.</p>
<p>Are you ready to listen to something else?  Please don&#8217;t try to tell us that he / she said it was &#8216;this&#8217; or &#8216;that&#8217; or something else.  They failed.  You are worse.  Now let&#8217;s move on!</p>
<p>Are you ready to LISTEN to learn how to get that stomach flat and keep it flat?  Your Muscles are so tight and overloaded that your body is on serious exhaustion, pain and breakdown of muscles and IT needs massage regularly.</p>

<p>Colds, flu and viruses have come thick and fast this year.  Many have gotten over one lot of flu only to get it back, many with an awful barking cough.  When the flu has passed, this is the perfect time to get your massage and release all the muscles from all the coughing.  Your throat muscles have been stretched; your ribs are constantly exploding and the muscles and spasms cause the muscles to hurt.  You don&#8217;t want to leave it left untreated as this will cause muscle tightness in other areas of the body and become painful.  Massage is good to release the last of the flu and symptoms from the muscle fibres so your immune system can recover quickly.  Many have had the same flu, or even a different strain, for the last 3-4 months.  So schedule your massage quickly as it does make a big difference.</p>

<p>I am on a Mission!  I have done lots of courses around creating income to be debt free, have money in the bank, and no more worrying about that big bill coming in.  Is Money working for me or am I working for it &#8212; Money?</p>
<p>We all have it, but what you do with the problem is what I would like to take to the next level.</p>
<p>This is a <strong>4 part series on &#8220;Money and the Games It Plays on You&#8221;.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Part 2 of a 4 Part Series</strong></p>
<p>In the June Newsletter we talked about a game that you and Money play.  Did you find money in all sorts of places?  Which place surprised you the most and why was it a surprise for you?  I found my surprise was that my husband always empties his pockets out on the kitchen table where he puts his phone and glasses at bedtime.  For me, I realised that I did not have coins in the corner of my purse.  I needed to tidy out more of my bag.  What did you do with your coins?  Do you use them for lunch money, put the coins in a tin or in the bank?</p>
<p><strong>First </strong>this week is about your income.</p>
<p>Do you know exactly how much income you have from week to week if you are self-employed, or do you just hope that it will be ok?  Do you have accounts that you have done the work on but have not invoiced, or have not gotten paid for yet (if this business does not pay on time they could stop you from paying your bills on time)?</p>
<p>If you are employed, do you check your pay slips or does it get thrown somewhere never to be seen again?</p>
<p><strong>Second</strong> is expenses.  Do you keep a computer record or book form of all your expenses each week and month?</p>
<p>Do you know what bills are coming each week?</p>
<p>This one might be a big one for you &#8212; do you check to see if you got the refund money back into your account, or check to see if you are still paying for something that you should have finished paying for months ago?  Is there $2.50 coming out of your bank account every month that you have no idea what it is for?</p>
<p>This is all about being conscious in all areas of money and where it goes.  You work hard for your money, five days a week, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and not know where and what your money is doing for you.  Are you the slave or is your money???  Or do you even want to know?  This is where the new game comes in.</p>
<p>Imagine if every $$$ dollar was to become a worker and you could make them work harder than you do.  Maybe even give you back double or triple.  Would you pay attention then?</p>
<p>You have to know how much is coming in and how much is going out.  Look at how much you want to spend money on what and then get the rest of the money to start working for you &#8212; and reverse who&#8217;s working for whom.</p>
<p>You are the gate keeper!</p>

<li>Write a list of everything you spend now</li>
<li>Choose what to pay for</li>
<li>Figure out what you don&#8217;t need to keep paying anymore and cancel.</li>
</ol>
<p>You have the right to be more powerful than your money and we are going to give you that secret next month.</p>
